Middle school students in grades 8 and under should be aware that most high schools refuse to accept credits for students who have not yet entered 9th grade. This means that a student who completes an SVHS course before graduating from 8th grade may not have that transcript accepted by their future high school for high school credits. To avoid this issue, 8th-grade students can wait until they have graduated 8th grade and the SVHS Summer semester has started (June 1st) to take the Final Exam in SVHS courses.
If a middle school student wants to take a course so that they enter 9th grade at a higher level (for example in math or Spanish), then they should consult with the high school they plan to attend to ensure this will be the result and determine what minimum grade they must earn.
